Josh takes the time to develop characters in a way that leads a reader to invest in their outcome of the adventure. I found many ideas and philosophies faced by our current culture embedded in the characters internal struggles making them well relatable. Josh's imagery and use of science fiction was not overwhelming or far fetched lending to a smooth reading without overshadowing the flow of a well developed and intricate plot. It is a true page turner as the story progresses. A great read that will lend well to reading clubs and discussion groups.
I am ashamed it took me so long to get around to reading this book. Calling Tower was a great read! The story touches on philosophical subjects such as humanity and religion, but at the same time having an easy to follow plot that is exciting and action packed, but not heavy handed. I especially enjoyed the character development of the book as it gave me the feeling of getting to know the characters almost as if I was interacting with them in real life as opposed to just getting a narrated history lesson about each one. This above all thing left me wanting more and I will certainly look to pick up the next installment when it is done. Great job Josh.

Great Story! I really enjoyed the character's development and the detailed universe. I would defiantly recommend this to any Sci Fi fan. I can not wait till book two is available!!
Very good story line.
I liked this novel a lot. The characters were well developed and believable (no small feat as some of them are just this side of supermen) and the concept was unique. This is good, old fashioned hard core science fiction and I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.
